Prisma health will be modifying its visitation policies starting on December 27 due to the rising rates of influenza and other respiratory illnesses in the area.
The updated policy will restrict visitation for children under the age of 16 to safeguard patients, their families, and hospital staff from the spread of seasonal flu and respiratory illnesses.
Dr. Sangita Dash, an infectious disease specialist at Prisma health, emphasized that exceptions to this rule may be permitted at the discretion of hospital administration.
